We’re thrilled to introduce Hannah Vincent, who joined the ranks of our affiliated instructors in November 2024 after completing our in person instructor course this summer. Passionate about dogs and trailing, Hannah brings an infectious enthusiasm and a wealth of experience to the table.

Let’s dive into her journey, what inspires her, and how trailing has transformed not just her life but also the lives of her dogs.

When Did You Start Trailing?

Hannah has been trailing in the North West for around two years, building a remarkable bond with her dog, Yogi.

Why Did You Start Trailing?

Yogi, Hannah’s cocker spaniel is a nervous and reactive dog, who found his confidence through trailing. “We started trailing to build Yogi’s confidence and to help him be less afraid of things,” Hannah shares. The impact has been incredible—Yogi is now less reactive and enjoys his outings far more.

The fact that Hannah has been able to attend several of our group events like our Trail Camps and be working with Yogi in close proximity to other dogs shows just how far this team have come!

Tell Us About Your Dogs and Trailing Experience

Yogi isn’t Hannah’s only canine companion—she also has two other dogs, each with their own quirks. Mac a little Jack Russell terrier and Mousse a Staffordshire bull terrier cross. Her experience working with Yogi has given her a deep understanding of how trailing can help dogs from all walks of life but we are yet to persuade her to bring the other pups along to a session. She is keen to keep it as quality mum and Yogi time which we can’t argue with.

Hannah’s philosophy is simple: every dog, no matter their background or challenges, can benefit from the inclusivity and confidence-building that trailing offers. It’s this approach that makes her so excited to help others start their trailing journeys.

Favourite Thing About Trailing

Hannah lights up when talking about trailing. Her favourite aspect? Inclusivity. “It’s amazing how trailing can bring out the best in every dog, building their confidence in such a unique and supportive way,” she says.

We are looking forward to seeing how Hannah helps other dog owners to thrive in their pet trailing sessions in Nantwich and Crewe just like she has with her own gang. As her first sessions for December have been a complete sell out, we are certain she will be kicking things off with a bang!

Funny Moments on the Trail

Hannah recalls one particularly unforgettable adventure with Yogi:

“There was one time we were out trailing, and the heavens opened. The rain was so heavy we could barely see! But Yogi, being the determined star that he is, still managed to find his missing person despite the weather. We were soaked from head to toe!” The best bit about this memory is that it was none other than our Co-Founder Marilyn who had been hidden in the horrible weather in Nantwich. Her face when Yogi found her was one of sheer relief! And yes…… we caught it on camera:

Why Hannah Became an Affiliated Instructor

Hannah’s love for trailing and her dedication to helping others led her to affiliate as an instructor. She’s eager to guide others on their trailing journeys, combining learning with fun for both dogs and their handlers. She is always willing to get stuck in whether that’s trailing, instructing or simply being on lost person duty!
