On the 5th and 6th of October, a group of excited handlers and their dogs gathered for the highly anticipated North Wales Trail Camp, set against the stunning backdrops of Anglesey, Conwy, and Colwyn Bay. With crisp autumn air and breathtaking landscapes, the scene was set for an unforgettable weekend of trailing, laughter, and camaraderie. As feedback from the event shows, this weekend will be remembered fondly by all who attended!

Anita, who attended with her dog Ben, summed it up perfectly by saying, “No photos to add – but just want to thank everyone again for such a great trailing weekend.” While there may be no pictures to share, the memories created will certainly last a lifetime.

Hannah echoed these sentiments: “Thank you Rachel and Marilyn for a great weekend! One of my favourites 🥰.” That simple yet heartfelt feedback is a testament to the magic of the event, where both dogs and their humans connected and thrived.

For some, this was their first experience of a trail camp, and what a fantastic one it turned out to be! Kat shared her excitement: “We had the best time! Glad we got such a great bunch of dogs (and people) for our first trail camp! Hopefully the first of many!” There’s something special about seeing dogs work together, honing their skills, while their handlers support each other, and this camp was no exception.

Han also appreciated the sense of community and acceptance: “Honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to spend my weekend with. So much fun, with like-minded people 😍. Thank you for accepting me and my little Black and Tan noisy nightmare 🙃🤎.” The weekend wasn’t just about trailing – it was about building friendships, sharing laughs, and coming together over a shared love of dogs and the great outdoors.

The weekend’s success wasn’t just due to the incredible locations, but also the spirit of everyone involved. Jane from Team Tarka captured the essence of the event: “Whow!! What a fabulous day Team Tarka have had. Lovely location, lovely people, lovely doggies. What more do we need to fill a Sunday😊.” She expressed her thanks to Marilyn and Rachel, the dynamic duo behind The Canine School of Trailing, who ensured the weekend ran smoothly: “You are both superstars. You both make such a great team to lead us all by example. Thank you ☺.”

The North Wales Trail Camp proved to be not just a series of excellent trails, but also a chance for people and dogs alike to learn, grow, and have fun. As Polly put it, “Thank you everyone for your support and fantastic trails from The Canine School of Trailing team 😍 xx.” The guidance and support from the trainers made the experience all the more enriching.

Organising such a fantastic event is no small feat, and it didn’t go unnoticed. Gill shared her gratitude: “Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your hard work in organising this weekend. It’s really appreciated. A very tired Freya here 🐾.” And Jane’s promise to avoid double-booking next time proves just how keen everyone is for the next trail camp!
